Intelligent document processing for tax firms
Truss uses advanced AI to extract, classify, and organize tax documents, reducing manual data entry and accelerating tax preparation workflows.
Book a Demo with TrussTruss AI helps tax and accounting firms automate client communication and routine prep tasks using conversational AI. It summarizes documents, drafts email replies, and assists with client Q&A during busy season. Built specifically for firms, Truss integrates securely with existing tax workflows and supports firm branding, compliance, and collaboration features.
Tax professionals generally express a positive sentiment towards Truss, highlighting its user-friendly interface and effective document gathering capabilities. Many appreciate its integration with existing tax software and the customizable checklists it offers. The pricing at around $3,000 annually for unlimited use is seen as reasonable, especially for smaller practices. However, some users note limitations in client management features and the need for additional practice management software.
it’s real guys truss
Just got off a demo call with Truss. Honestly, pretty dang impressed. Quoted $3k/year unlimited. I'm a sole practitioner with roughly 100 returns. Anyone else on the platform? Any blind spots? Things it falls on its face with?
My firm signed up with Truss in June and it has been great so far for gathering documents from clients. I'm curious if anyone else here is using it and might have some insights on any best practices. The biggest thing I'm wondering is how you are using Truss with your practice management system. We are currently looking for new PM software and are currently using Practice CS. We only use Practice for time and billing and don't use the project management or other features. Any thoughts that com
Been using Truss for about 3 months. Prior to that were on SafeSend, and before that on Canopy. I highly recommend Truss. Extremely user friendly.
Hello: I'm shopping BOI processors. So far I've got **SnapBOI vs Truss** Have you guys used them - if so what do you think? Any issues to be aware of? Is there a good one I've missed?
We also use Ultratax. I have delivered some extended returns and Truss has done a good job reading the return PDFs and creating the tasks for payments and esigning.
We started Truss back in January and it was a godsend. Such a great piece of software for my small practice. It does just about everything I need. I found Canopy/TD were too high powered for me.
Thank you for the info- I have been in contact with Truss and have been considering- we are using UltraTax as a tax software, what software do you use- does it have good integration with Truss?
Can you give an approximate cost for Truss? I don't want to waste time doing a demo if too far out of my budget.
Do you track time and WIP somewhere outside of Truss? That is the biggest thing that I need to figure out. I'd like to get rid of Practice CS but haven't found an easier to use solution that isn't 2 or 3 times as expensive.
Truss is awesome. However, I have a very small and straightforward firm so it works as a standalone PMS. Our billing goes through Truss since the invoice is in our printed tax return. I think if I needed a dedicated PMS I might have gone with Canopy/TaxDome and skipped Truss.
Our firm signed up in July and I have been very happy with Truss so far. Most of our extension clients had already provided their documents so most of our use has been on the delivery side. The delivery is easy, saves time and has a good presentation imo. I have been using Truss to gather and delivery documents for audits, bookkeeping and payroll clients and that has worked well. Their staff has been very helpful and are willing to take advice an implement changes based on feedback. Overall I'
We have a different practice management system since we are a wealth management firm. So I could understand why you'd be more hesitant on Truss.
Are you using a practice management system with Truss? I am looking for a good way to manage client contacts and communication which is somewhat limited in Truss.
What Truss does that Karbon doesn't offer (as far as I am aware) is creating a customized checklist for each client. You upload your tax software's backup data and then Truss gives them tasks to like W-2 Reddit Taxpayer, 1099-INT Wells Fargo, etc. It also has a delivery similar to SafeSend that summarizes the return detail, gives links to make the payments and sends estimate payment reminders.
I actually haven’t scoped Karbon recently but the doc upload for Truss has auto-workpaper naming/bookmarking which is a huge time suck for me.
I'll try to keep things brief. On a burner account just in case. I am currently a controller for 2 companies. One is a wood framing contractor, other manufactures wood trusses and other components. The 2nd was setup to assist the first but also to offer products to the general market. to date about 90% of the revenue for company 2 has come from company 1 projects. Before I got here they got themselves in a pretty deep hole with back payroll taxes with both companies (1st much worse than 2nd)
Liz Truss has just become the first CIMA qualified Accountant to take on the role of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Fixed Costs are rising and Budgeting and Forecasting is on everyone's mind. There couldn't be a more critical time to have a financial professional in charge of the country...
